Location: Solomon Schechter, 1 Barbara Lane, Jericho NY
Date: Friday morning, November 10th, at 8am, during Kabbalat Shabbat

Solomon Schechter School would like to extend an invitation to the men and women in our community who are veterans of the United States military.  After Kabbalat Shabbat, the veterans will be invited into the gym for refreshments and then they will be interviewed by the students in grades 3-5.  

During their interviews, pictures will be taken of the veterans and when the students are in art class, they will learn how to draw portraits using the photos of the veterans as their subjects. The culmination of this project will take place when the veterans are invited to Schechter in the spring for our Evening of the Arts and they will have an opportunity to view the finished portraits which will be proudly displayed on the school walls.  

If you know a veteran, please invite them to participate in this project by attending Kabbalat Shabbat on November 10th.
