The Chesed TASK FORCE
Resources for Daily Life Needs
Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, Congregation Beth Ohr has been conducting an outreach program to elderly residents of our area. The program consists of making weekly phone calls to these individuals to inquire as to their health and to see if there is anything that they might need assistance with. The length of the call is controlled by the volunteer; some of them are quite short, while others can go on for a while. In many instances, these individuals look forward to the calls as it gives them a link to the “outside world”. On average our volunteers call 4 different individuals each week. The number fluctuates based on the number of volunteers available for a given week.
If you would like to volunteer to assist with this program or want to get more information before committing to volunteer, please contact Rich Levow at Trainman_1998@yahoo.com. He will be more than happy to discuss the program with you and answer all of your questions.
