A shout out to Rabbi Bernstein on doing a fantastic job blessing all of our furry and feathered pets (and others).
We are hosting an Open House for the Hebrew School Parents on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 5:50 PM until 6:45 PM. From 5:50 PM until 6:10 PM we will meet in the sanctuary for Opening Remarks. From 6:15 PM until 6:45 PM, parents are invited to join their student in class.
I hope that everyone will attend.
The Kindergarten and Primary Class: This week they are learning the Shabbat Brachot and the foods which make Shabbat so special.
The Pre-Aleph Class: is continuing to learn the Aleph-Bet and the Brachot. It is priceless to see how excited they get when introduced to a new letter.
Aleph: Both Aleph classes are excited about learning to read Hebrew. They have both started the unit on Shabbat and will be bringing home art projects and singing songs which are related to Shabbat.
Bet: It is amazing how much the students are learning. I am very proud of the amount of Hebrew conversation which is taking place in their class. The students also learned about the crossing of the Sea of Reeds, "The Red Sea". They are starting to practice reading the words to "Shalom Aleikhem". It is a pleasure to listen to them read.
Gimel: The students are really excited working with our Shinshin, Yoav, and enjoy asking him questions about his life in Israel. The Gimel students are focusing on their Hebrew reading and are doing well.
Dalet: The Dalet students have been very diligent in learning the Shabbat Service. They enjoy working with Yoav, our Shinshin, and learning about Israel.
Hey: A reminder: Hebrew High classes meet on Tuesdaysfrom 7:00 PM until 8:40 PM at the Merrick Jewish Centre.
The Hey students have been very hard learning the prayers for their Bar / Bat Mitzvah.
I encourage you to attend Shabbat services in the Main Sanctuary to improve your comfort level for your child's Bar or Bat Mitzvah and to strengthen their Hebrew reading.
I hope that you have all received the Hebrew School Calendar. If you have any questions or concerns about it, please contact June at SchoolAdm@cbohr.org. Please keep your eye on the Calendar, as we update it regularly.
Our next Junior Congregation is this Saturday, October 27, 2018 and starts at 10:30 AM in the Muraskin Room. We hope that everyone will attend.
The November Junior Congregation dates are on Saturday, November 3 and November 17, 2018.
