We are hosting an Open House for the Hebrew School Parents on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 5:50 PM until 6:45 PM for the Aleph, Bet, Gimel and Dalet classes. From 5:50 PM until 6:10 PM we will meet in the Sanctuary for Opening Remarks. From 6:15 PM until 6:45 PM, parents are invited to join their student in class.
I hope that everyone will attend.
Many of you have asked about sponsoring the Kosher Kart, Weekly Challah or Junior Congregation. The sponsorships are only $36 each. I will have Sign-up Sheets available during our Open House.
The Kindergarten and Primary Class: This week they are starting to learn about Chanukah.
The Pre-Aleph Class: will also start to learn about Chanukah.
Aleph: Both Aleph classes are excited about learning to read Hebrew. They have both started the unit on Chanukah and will be bringing home art projects and singing songs which are related to Chanukah.
Bet: It is amazing how much the students are learning. I am very proud of the amount of Hebrew conversation which is taking place in their class. They are starting to practice reading the words to "Shalom Aleikhem". It is a pleasure to listen to them read.
Gimel: The students are really excited working with our Shinshin, Yoav, and enjoy asking him questions about his life in Israel. The Gimel students are focusing on their Hebrew reading and are doing well.
Dalet: The Dalet students have been very diligent in learning the Shabbat Service. They enjoy working with Yoav, our Shinshin, and learning about Israel.
Hey: A reminder: Hebrew High classes meet on Tuesdaysfrom 7:00 PM until 8:40 PM at the Merrick Jewish Centre. There is no Hebrew High on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
The Hey students have been working very hard learning the prayers for their Bar / Bat Mitzvah.
I encourage you to attend Shabbat services in the Main Sanctuary to improve your comfort level for your child's Bar or Bat Mitzvah and to strengthen their Hebrew reading.
