Dear Dynamic Parents,
On a personal note, I thought December 2, 2018 was a very heartwarming day to see the unity of both synagogues. I thought the students were amazing.
I would like to thank all of the volunteers who gave their time and helped to make this event so memorable.
A special "shout-out" to Mr. Arkin who opened "Arkin's Kosher Bakery" and made sufganiyot with the help of his Bet and Hey students.
We have included the Family Services Schedule at the bottom of this email. We encourage all of our families to attend and will give Junior Congregation credit to all students who are present. The families will make edible dreidels and menorahs from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM and attend a creative, enriching family-friendly service at 6:30 PM. If you attend, please send an email to June (SchoolAdm@cbohr.org) so that she can keep track of your Junior Congregation credit.
On Sunday, December 9, 2018 our choir (all students in Aleph, Bet, Gimel and Dalet, and we would love to have the Hey students) will appear at The Bristal House from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM to entertain the seniors in residence. The address of The Bristal House is 40 Merrick Avenue, East Meadow, NY 11554. This Mitzvah is appreciated by our elderly friends who truly look forward to interacting with our students. Parents and students are asked to be there by 10:00 AM. The performance will run until about 11:00 AM. Teachers should go directly to The Bristal House and take attendance. We invite and encourage all parents to stay to enjoy the show. Students should wear a white shirt and dark bottom.
There are no regular Hebrew School hours for those classes on that date. The Kindergarten, Primary and Pre-Aleph classes will meet at CBO at their regular time.

Aleph: Both Aleph classes are excited about learning to read Hebrew. They have both started the unit on Chanukah and will be bringing home art projects and singing songs which are related to Chanukah. The class party is next Sunday, December 16, 2018.
Bet: A "Tip of the Kippah" to Mr. Arkin and the Bet class for making the sufganiyot (jelly donuts) for the Chanukah Festival. The class party is next Sunday, December 16, 2018.

They are comparing Chanukah as celebrated here in Bellmore with the way it is celebrated in Israel. The class party is next Sunday, December 16, 2018.
Dalet: The Dalet students have been very diligent in learning the Shabbat Service. They are also focusing on the important role that Judaism has in their lives. The current "hot topic" in their class has been the "Essence of Chanukah". The class party is next Sunday, December 16, 2018.
Hey: A reminder: Hebrew High classes meet on Tuesdays from 7:00 PM until 8:40 PM at the Merrick Jewish Centre.

The Hey students are begining to learn concepts of Talmud and how the Rabbis discuss and interpret it.
The class party for Monday is December 10 and Thursday is December 13, 2018.
The Hey students have been working very hard learning the prayers for their Bar / Bat Mitzvah. I encourage you to attend Shabbat services in the Main Sanctuary to improve your comfort level for your child's Bar or Bat Mitzvah and to strengthen your child's Hebrew reading.
I hope that you have all received the Hebrew School Calendar. If you have any questions or concerns about it, please contact June at SchoolAdm@cbohr.org. Please keep your eye on the Calendar, as we update it regularly.
