High Holiday Information

This year Rosh Hashanah starts at sundown on October 2nd. All services will be held at our Bellmore location. To accommodate all our congregants’ needs for seats we must know before September 9th how many additional seats you will be purchasing.
There are still some PEW seats available for donation. Please CLICK HERE or call the office for more information. The second day of Rosh Hashanna will once again feature our very successful service - L’Dor V’Dor: A New Intergenerational Approach
Join us on the second day of Rosh Hashanah, October 4th at 10:00AM for our main sanctuary “L’Dor V’Dor” service, a community-based gathering made for everyone. All ages, all family members, all are welcome to come together to sing, dance, pray and interact as we create an active presence. We are all here. From generation to generation, family to family.
- Early morning Tot service for younger families (Tot service starts at 9:15AM)
- Movement-based embodied prayer chants and melodies
- Children’s Torah processions
- Making family memories together
- Accessible rituals for all ages and all levels
- Traditional liturgy infused with English readings and lively singing
- Interactive Torah service with teen readers and group aliyot
- Dramatic children’s Torah performance
- Open, family-friendly seating for all abilities and comfort levels
- Participatory ritual and prayer led by community members and clergy
- Booming, Blasting Shofar Service including our Baal-Tokeyas-in-Training!
This Second Day of Rosh Hashanah service is open to all of our member’s extended family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.). There will be open seating for this service, but everyone must register and have a ticket. Extra tickets for extended family are available without charge for this service.
For those members who prefer a more traditional service, we will be having an early morning lay-led (no clergy) service beginning at 8:00AM in the Muraskin Room on the second day of Rosh Hashanah. The service will end by 10:30AM so that our congregants can join the intergenerational service with their families. Please let us know if you will be attending this service.
There will be reserved seating on the first Day of Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre and on Yom Kippur. There will be open seating on the second day of Rosh Hashanah for our intergenerational service.
Everyone must have a ticket, including children. Yearly dues include two seats for those with family membership. Single membership dues include one seat.
- Extra tickets for reserved seats are $100 per seat. Buying a reserved seat for your children is optional. We will have a special unreserved section to accommodate children and teenagers who have not purchased reserved seats.
- Requests for extra tickets should be accompanied by payment or arrangements should be made with the Financial Secretary. PLEASE REMEMBER – EXTRA TICKETS (except for the intergenerational service) ARE FOR IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS ONLY.
- There will be a full set of Junior Congregation services held a on the First Day of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
CBO hopes to make the holidays meaningful for everyone. If you are unable to attend services in person, you may watch them on our livestream. All of our main sanctuary services will be livestreamed to our website and YouTube. If you need a prayer book (Machzor) for the livestream, please contact the office.
The deadline for requesting tickets and locations is September 9th. The ticket committee will begin seat allocation after September 9th. The committee will try to honor requests after this date, but will not do so until all of the on-time requests have been processed.

Please note the following:
In accordance with our constitution, tickets will not be distributed until all prior years’ dues and fees are up to date and current dues are paid or an appropriate agreement to pay temple obligations is in place. Please make sure that your financial obligations are complete as soon as possible.
