Boker Tov from Mitzpe Ramon in the Negev! It’s Wednesday, our 5th full day in Israel.
Will it be hot? Will it be cold? Will we walk ? Will we experience ancient sites? Will we learn? Will we be happy? Will we deepen our connection to this ancient land? Will we laugh?
8:30 am. Bus is loaded. It’s 45 degrees, clear skies. Our first stop, David Ben Gurion’s burial site.

IDF are holding a moving up ceremony. Proud parents, siblings, trainees and officers, all happy and excited. Mazal Tov! That was awesome.
Beautiful natural wonder in the desert. A canyon carved out over millennia.
Off to Kiriat Gat City for a nice alfresco lunch. Next stop Beit Guvrin for an archaeological dig. No humidity, perfect day.
The group participated in a real life dig. We entered a cave and got down and dirty with picks and trowels. We found fragments of pottery, charcoal, animal bones and an olive pit. The excavation is in a cave from the times of Judah Maccabi. We unearthed man made objects that haven’t been seen in over 2000 years.
