BE PART OF PROJECT PHOENIX: Help Masorti (Conservative) communities like Nataf, Harmed by Fires in Israel. This and other Masorti communities are devastated. Children and adults alike are in need of respite and trauma support services, services that Masorti kehillot are expert at providing. Whole towns must be rebuilt. We need to raise over $500K quickly. We hope that we can count on you to come to the aid of Nataf, Haifa, Zichron Yaakov and other injured Masorti communities.
Dear [first_name],
I read the book of Genesis, the stories of our first family, and I feel a personal connection to my ancestors, my bloodline, my story. And I believe that connection also calls us to look at our people around the world and in Israel today and see ourselves as brothers and sisters. Right now, our family in Israel is experiencing severe fires causing over 80,000 people to be evacuated. This Shabbat, as we do every Shabbat, we will recite Kiddush, remembering how we fled Egypt to get away from danger. While most of the time we view that as a celebrated turning point, we must also recognize how terrible it is to have to be displaced, to take what is important to you and leave. Right now our people needs our support to help them survive these fires and build lives for themselves after homes and synagogues, including a Masorti (Conservative) synagogue have been destroyed. Please consider donating through the Masorti movement who will give aid to the Masorti communities in haifa who have lost so much due to this fire. Click here to help support these communities. In addition, all proceeds from our Dec. 13 Shabbat shalom, Rabbi Bernstein

From Andrew Kessler: As part of my mitzvah project, I am collecting new unwrapped toys that will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. This will give the children of the Ronald McDonald House an opportunity to play with a new toy during the holiday season. Thank you for helping make my mitzvah project a success! Andrew Kessler. Any questions you can email me at Kessler1107@gmail.com
